Making your donation go further - ‘Gift Aid It!’
Gift Aid allows us as a charity to claim from the Inland Revenue tax paid on a donation made by any tax-paying donor. As the current basic rate of income tax is 22%, this means that we can claim an extra 28p for every £1 you actually give us. As long as you are an UK taxpayer all you have to do is to fill in and sign a simple Gift Aid Declaration.
Do I have to make more than one donation?
No. Although we would benefit from a regular donation there is no
obligation at all for you to do this. Each single pound attracts an extra 28p.
What if I’ve made another donation in the past?
Tax on any donation you have made since April 6th, 2000 can also be claimed as long as you made it by cheque, Standing Order or Direct Debit so that it may be verified.
What about future donations I might want to make?
Once you have completed the Gift Aid Declaration, any subsequent
donations you make will automatically qualify for reclaiming tax.
